Deja vu?
Well that was an interesting start to the day! Our power went out at 2 A.M. and wasn't restored until approximately 1:30 or so this afternoon. That was a little to close to our Christmas experience to make most of us in this area happy you can be sure! :( Had it been weather related it might have been easier to take. This however was not! Seems it was caused by a person or persons (currently unknown I believe) who decided to break into the sub station and steal copper.
You would think that I'd have learned something from Decembers ice storm power outage. Actually I thought I had, I remember saying that I would never let dishes and laundry pile up again, well, this winter anyway. I'm a night owl, so was awake & working (playing ) on the computer when the power went off. My first thought was, "oh dear, I knew I should have done those 2 loads of laundry earlier in the evening". Then I looked over into my kitchen and saw my pile of dishes that I had left.
:( Nothing to be done about them now so I stoked up the wood stove and went to bed, praying that the power would be back on by the time I got up in the morning.
You know what I spent my morning doing don't you?
Not knowing just how long the outage would last, and mentally kicking myself, I heated some of our stored water on the stove and started washing dishes while the husband refilled the wood box. I had almost finished the job when the power came back on (2 pots left). Made lunch and promptly washed up lunch dishes and then refilled the bottles I had used previously. Doing laundry as I type this blog post. Would like to say I've learned my lesson, but in all honestly, I probably haven't. You see, I am a procrastinator. I always have good intentions but you know what they say about those.
Nothing library related in this post but I will say that once my laundry is finished I'm going to be starting a new book.

Random stuff
I think I just may have this figured out now. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I freely admit that it probably took me longer to get this far than it did most of you. But hey, at least I'm here.
I'm a volunteer and a casual at Harvey Community Library. I volunteer two days a week and work when called in. I've been sitting here pondering what subject to write about and find my mind is jumping from one thing to another & not settling on anything specific so I'm just going to jump in. Have you ever looked at a book or movie title and subconsciously added extra letters. My example will be Downton Abby. From the first time I heard of this until just recently I was convinced that it was Downtown Abby, my mind just automatically added that extra W in. I know that I've done this with other titles too but none are coming to mind just now.
Having attended a church financial committee meeting this afternoon (still need to type up my notes) and time spent figuring this blog process out, my brain is a bit fried, so I'm going to let this stand as my first blog post and say "goodnight Gracie".
